OPERATIONS TRAINIING & STANDARDS MANAGER 

AUCKLAND AIRPORT   (May 2024 to Present)   

Main Responsibilities:

Newly created role in 2024 to manage and reinvent the Operations Training Team at AKL. Managing a team of trainers who serve the Landside Operations Division and the Fire & Rescue Officers who train our Emergency Fire Fighters. Budget of over $4million dollars to ensure all AKL Operational Customers are compliant to regulatory bodies. This includes Airside, Wild Life & Bird, Security & Customer Service Divisions. Manager of LMS and third party training vendors.

 

Introducing eLearning for a blended learning approach to also later serve our many third parties in the future. Owner of virtual reality tool and working in conjunction with change teams for software system rollouts. Designer and facilitator of Leadership Programme for Operational Emerging Leaders, the first of it's kind at AKL.

EROAD   (August 2021 to May 2024)   

Main Responsibilities:

Owns, manages and delivers all global learning from staff inductions to Leadership training for New Zealand, Australia and USA.

Instructional designer of mandatory eLearnings and owner of Workday LMS.

September 2020 - August 2021

TRAKCARE TRAINING MANAGER  (Compass21 Project)

MercyAscot Hospitals  (Sept 2020 - 1 Year FIxed Term Contract)   

Main Responsibilities:

Managed a team of 5 trainers to implement TrakCare EMR software for MercyAscot Clinical staff,  This software transitioned these hospitals from being paper based to totally online and integrated from admitting patients, processing surgeries to being discharged.

June 2019 - September 2020

TRAINING MANAGER  (Network Transformation Project)

Goodman Fielder (June 2019 August 2021 contract)   

Main Responsibilities:

Delivered 2020 Auckland staggered training project, after completing a nation-wide roll-out through-out New Zealand.  This role includes a large component of change management. Training Distributors regarding upcoming  preparedness using new technology systems, utilising zoom and online learning under Covid-19.

SAP CAPABILITY UPLIFT INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER

Auckland Council (April 2019  to June 2019 2 month contract)   

Main Responsibilities:

Created training collateral for Service Strategy & Integration Regulatory project for 2 month assignment.

 March 2018 - April 2019

TRAINING LEAD (Network Transformation Project)

Goodman Fielder (March 2018  to April 2019 - 1 year fixed term contract)   

Main Responsibilities:

Created ‘Training Needs Analysis’ for project training roll-out .  Designed and developed all training collateral using blended learning techniques, evaluations and hands-on teaching.   Scheduled training of 62 new distributors all over New Zealand and their staff of approximately 300 Goodman Fielder truck drivers, to facilitate 51 Two Day Training Workshops. 

Managed/mentored an ex-distributor to co-train sessions; and a  training coordinator to book flights, venues and attendees.

eLEARNING CONSULTANT

Foodstuffs /via Blue Sky Recruitment  (October 2017 - March 2018 contract)

Main Responsibilities:

Created eLearning induction package for Foodstuffs stores (PAKnSAVE: New World, Gilmours, Liquorland and 4 Square), including ‘Welcome to Foodstuffs’ and ‘Health & Safety Induction’ for new employees.  Mentored graphic designer in the eLearning process and provided voice-over coaching for selected health and safety voice actor.

JDE  FINANCIAL SOFTWARE TRAINER (FIJI CONTRACT) 

Fletcher Construction via Sysdoc  (August 2017 - October  2017 contract)

Main Responsibilities:

Successfully delivered 9 financial JDE courses to Fletcher Building staff in Suva Fiji in September and October.

APPLICATION TRAINER:  Software Development House

WEX   (April  2015 - Sept 2016)

Main Responsibilities:

WEX http://www.wexinc.com/ is an American owned corporate payments solutions company, listed on the New York stock exchange.  Singular ‘Application Trainer’ , designed and delivered IFCS training programmes to internal testers, developers, business analysts, and WEX customers internationally.

December 2012 - April 2015

TRAINING ANALYST: 

Auckland Council   (Dec  2012 - April 2015)

Main Responsibilities:

Part of the ‘IS Training & Organisational Change Team’ who were assigned to the various IT projects that existed in the Council.   Training Team Lead’ for the ‘SAP Contract Management Procurement Project’. Managed 3 other trainers, and coordinated training roadshows for over 1000 managers.  Created the eLearning for post project completion and implemented the team’s first fully automated online solution. Redesigned the team’s website format, and implemented online automated change control for eLearning.  Produced 4 SAP eLearning modules which replaced one full FTE.

February 2005 - December 2012

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TRAINER:  

Health Alliance/Auckland District Health Board  (Feb 2005 - Dec 2012)

Main Responsibilities:

Health Alliance took over the back office and IS staff functionalities from ADHB in 2011.  Jill was employed as an IT Trainer with ADHB and then became a staff member to Health Alliance. Main responsibilities and achievements remained the same.  

Change control, software testing, training coordination, writing manuals, quick cards, and creating video tutorials and eLearning.  Created the first soft skills course called ‘Presenting the Presenter’ teaching presentation techniques to staff.

May 2012 - October 2012

TEACHER/KAIAKO ADULT CERTIFICATE IN FIRST STEPS TO BUSINESS:  

Te Wānanga o Aotearoa   (May 2012 - Oct 2012)

Main Responsibilities:

Taught 12 week-night classes to 20 adult students interested in starting their own businesses.  Jill used this contract as an opportunity to put into practice the Maori metaphor teaching tool from her PhD thesis. 

Retained  quota of students throughout the 12 weeks and all students successfully passed the Level 2 programme.  Consistent feedback from students saying how much they enjoyed the Maori metaphorical stories, games and humour used in the class to assist in their learning.  Marked and moderated student’s assessments according to NZQA standards.    Performed literacy and numeracy tests on students and interpreted the results.
